TAARA P.O.T.A. Activation/ Outing Post-Event Wrap-up

Writer's picture: Sean SchwartzmillerSean Schwartzmiller

Good afternoon, everyone!

I just wanted to give everyone a summary of our POTA (Parks on the Air) activation/ club outing today at Raccoon Creek State Park.

First, I want to thank Matt, N3NWV, and Dennis, KC3EJA for taking the time and effort to set this event up for us, and Frank, N3TN, for assisting with getting our club call registered. And I also want to thank everyone who brought food, water, and other items to make this a very special day.

We had an awesome day! We had 26 members and guests in attendance today for our event and everyone had a great time! Even though the weather was somewhat uncooperative for a time, the group made what I would consider a phenomenal number of contacts and got a good taste of what POTA is. Not only that, but we all had a fantastic lunch (I know, the cook is patting his own back, ha, ha) and we all had a chance to visit with each other and catch up after a long time.

There was already talk of doing this again, sometime during the summer, including a covered dish picnic for members and families. More on that to come for sure!!

I’m sure we’ll talk more about this at our May club meeting, but I just wanted everyone to know that this event was a great success, and I think the next one will be even better!

Have a great weekend!

73,

Dom, N3EJL
